Our client is an international bank specialising in private banking and corporate investment.
They're looking for an Operational Security Officer to join their team in Lisbon.
In this role, you'll play a key part in safeguarding the integrity of the bank's information systems while ensuring the effective implementation of strategic security directives established by the 2nd line of defence.
Key Responsibilities Operational Implementation of Security Controls
• Develop and apply procedures based on Information Security policies from the 2nd line of defence.
• Oversee technical security controls, including firewalls, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), antimalware tools, and endpoint protection.
Monitoring and Initial Response
• Monitor systems continuously to detect, analyse, and respond to security events and alerts.
• Act as the first responder to minor incidents, mitigating them before escalating to the 2nd line.
Vulnerability Management and Risk Mitigation
• Assist with penetration testing and vulnerability assessments.
• Apply updates and fixes based on assessments conducted by the 2nd line of defence.
Access Management
• Manage access permissions for critical systems and data.
• Oversee privileged access activities to ensure compliance with security standards.
Awareness and Training
• Organise regular training sessions and awareness campaigns tailored to local team needs, based on initiatives from the 2nd line.
Security-Focused Projects
• Ensure security requirements are met in Systems and Telecommunications projects, adhering to 2nd line standards.
• Participate in technical architecture reviews and validate security configurations.
Documentation and Reporting
• Document incidents, risks, and deviations, providing regular reports to the 2nd line of defence.
• Maintain accurate records for implemented security controls.
Business Continuity
• Develop and implement contingency procedures aligned with 2nd line policies.
• Conduct Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) exercises, documenting results for review by the 2nd line.
What You Bring Qualifications & Certifications
• Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Certification in Cybersecurity and/or Security Management.
• QRadar certification (a plus).
Professional Experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a relevant role.
• Expertise with firewalls (CheckPoint), IDS/IPS, DLP, antivirus, and endpoint protection solutions.
Language Skills
• Native Portuguese speaker.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
• Knowledge of Spanish is a plus.
Soft Skills
• Dynamic, proactive, and team-oriented.
• Strong organisational, planning, and communication skills.
• Effective in negotiation, with analytical thinking and critical judgment.
