Opening of a recruitment contest for the position of two Assistant Professors in the subject area of Strategic Management and Marketing. ISEG - Lisbon School of Economics and Management (the 'School') announces that for a period of 30 working days from the day after the publication of this notice in the Diário da República Official Gazette, an international documented recruitment contest is open for the position of two Assistant Professors in the subject area of Strategic Management and Marketing.
The contest is open under the terms of Articles 37 to 51, 61 and 62-A of the University Academic Career Status (Decree-Law 205/2009, as amended by Law No.8/2010). The successful candidates will sign a permanent public service employment contract with a probationary period of five years, aimed at recruiting graduates with a PhD who have high research potential and wish to start a university teaching career.
The joint-decree No. 373/2000 mandates public recruitment contests to adhere to a policy of equal opportunities between men and women for employment and career development.
I — Authorisation order
This contest was initiated by the Directive of 23/10/2024 of the Rector of Universidade de Lisboa, confirming a sufficient budget provision and that the respective positions are included in the School's organization chart.
II — Work location
The Campus of ISEG - Lisbon School of Economics and Management, Rua do Quelhas No. 6, 1200-781 Lisboa, Portugal.
III — Admission requirements for the contest
III.1 — Candidates must have a PhD;
III.1.1) Candidates with a non-Portuguese PhD must possess official recognition of their degree;
III.2 — Candidates must be able to teach in English. If not proficient in Portuguese, they must commit to learning the language.
III.3 — Candidates will be excluded if they fail to submit necessary documents by the deadline.
IV — Requirements for admission based on merit alone
To hold a PhD in Management or a similar subject area;
To possess a scientific and teaching curriculum compatible with the position;
To have at least two papers published or accepted in academic journals rated 3 or higher in the ABS database within the last six years.
V — Assessment criteria and ranking
This contest evaluates candidates' competencies in the role, including:
Pedagogical aptitude;
Scientific performance;
Public outreach and university management;
The Scientific-Pedagogical Project.
VI — Public hearings
The selection board may convene public hearings for candidates approved on the grounds of absolute merit.
VII — Submission of applications
Applications must be submitted in digital format on the ISEG website by the 30th working day from the publication of this notice.
VIII — Application instructions
Applications must include:
A completed application form;
An electronic copy of the candidate's curriculum vitae;
A copy of the Scientific-Pedagogical Project;
Electronic copies of all relevant scientific papers.
IX — Language
All supporting documents can be presented in Portuguese or English.
