OPEN CALL ANNOUNCEMENT FOR A BIOMEDICAL RESEARCHER POSITION (MOLECULAR BIOLOGY) The ABC CoLAB (Algarve Biomedical Center Collaborative Laboratory - Integrated Solutions for Aging and Rejuvenation) is an innovative triple-helix model in health focused on longevity and active aging, aimed at transferring knowledge and technology to society and target markets.
This call is for hiring one (1) PhD Researcher (M/F) in Biomedicine (Molecular Biology, or related areas), for candidates of any nationality, under operation ALGARVE-FSE+-01177600 related to the application submitted to Notice ALGARVE-2024-8, funded by the Algarve 2030 Regional Program and co-funded by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+).

Mission: Under the supervision of the Chief Executive and Innovation Officer (CEO/CIO), the researcher will employ translational and multidisciplinary approaches to explore and transform biomedical advancements into tangible solutions in the field of active and healthy aging.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Actively participate in the innovation and research policy of ABC CoLAB;
Support the activities to be developed within the research and innovation agenda of ABC CoLAB;
Conduct studies to identify and/or validate new therapeutic targets or biomarkers related to health and active ageing;
Develop and apply biomedical, molecular and cellular biology technologies, and precision medicine to create innovative products and/or services;
Propose, coordinate, and validate pilot tests for new products/services;
Continuously conduct market research in the field of aging;
Collaborate on the development of prototypes, medical devices, or innovative therapies;
Coordinate and support technicians and students;
Provide support for ongoing projects at ABC CoLAB in coordination with the CEO/CIO;
Work closely with the innovation and research teams to accelerate technology transfer and the commercialization of biomedical solutions;
Identify funding opportunities and prepare research and innovation proposals aligned with the strategic objectives of ABC CoLAB;
Produce or collaborate on the production of scientific or technological articles, communications, and/or reports;
Propose, support, and oversee the development and operationalization of new products and services;
Participate in ABC CoLAB's knowledge dissemination, communication, and outreach activities.
REQUIRED PROFILE:
PhD degree (MANDATORY) in Biology, Biomedicine, Biochemistry, or related fields;
Extensive experience in Biochemistry, Immunology, Molecular Biology, and Cell Biology techniques;
Proficient in using public databases in the fields of biology and biomedicine;
Significant postdoctoral research experience, particularly in studies in the context of ageing or associated diseases;
Experience in microscopy, edition and image analysis;
Experience in collecting, processing, and analysing human samples;
Experience in organizing events and/or scientific conferences will be valued.
Other Requirements:
Relevant scientific production through publications in reference journals, conference presentations, or participation in projects, or continuous training in areas relevant to the activities to be developed;
Experience in statistical analysis;
Experience in supervising students;
Fluency in both Portuguese and English, spoken and written.
