By order dated September 30th, 2024, of the Rector of the University of Évora, it was deliberated to open an international selection contest for the position of doctor for the exercise of scientific research activities in the scientific area of Biological Sciences, under a fixed term public service work contract regime with the duration of three years, possibly renewable for periods of one year up to a maximum duration of six years.2. The objective is to perform researcher duties in the area of Biological Sciences, within the scope of the projects GLA – Montado Management by Results – Monfurado, Refa PDR2020-203-104076 and GLA – Montado Management by Results – Vale do Guadiana, Ref. PDR2020-203-104081 and other projects that may be approved in the same work area.3. Applicable legislation includes Decree-Law no. 57/2016 of 29th August, which approves the doctor hiring regime, altered by the Law no 57/2017, of 19th July.4. The workplace is located at the University of Évora - MED, Mediterranean Institute for Agriculture, Environment and Development, University of Évora, Polo da Mitra, APT 94, 7006 -554 Évora, Portugal.5. The monthly remuneration is 2.294,95 € corresponding to level 33 of the Single Salary Table, updated by the Decree-Law no 108/2023, of 22nd November.6. Candidates must hold a doctorate degree in Biological Sciences and have a scientific and professional curriculum suited to the following conditions:Experience of at least 3 years of research in ecological monitoring of Mediterranean systems.Experience in developing and implementing protocols for sampling environmental results in the Montado ecosystem.Experience in developing action plans for biodiversity and good practice guides.Experience in facilitating the integration of stakeholders in scientific projects.Experience in database management.Experience in statistical and ecological data analysis.Experience in GIS analysis and ecological data modeling.Experience in preparing, submitting proposals and participating in R&D projects in the area of management and conservation of the Montado ecosystem.At least 3 publications, as first author, in Q1 journals indexed in Web of Science, in the last five years (2019-2023).Experience working in a team on national and international projects.Excellent command of Portuguese and English, written and spoken.Driving license.7.
