Description We currently have an exciting opportunity as Oncology Country Head in Portugal reporting to the Iberia OBU Country Head.
In this role, the successful candidate will set the vision, the strategy and goals for the Oncology Business Unit (BU), drive the implementation of access, commercial and medical strategy for the BU to ensure achievement of ambitious goals.Role Objectives:Lead all functions (e.g.
marketing, sales, medical, and market access) within the BU and own the full P&L.Grow current portfolio and prepare the BU/ Division for future Oncology product launches.Accelerate DD&T transformation process and ensure an excellent executionStrengthen the strong cross-functional Team and ensure continuous development and professional growth of Team membersPrepare the succession planningBuild valuable partnerships between Takeda, its customers & key stakeholders and maintain long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships to drive Patient-Trust-Reputation-BusinessReinforce and grow Takeda's reputation in Oncology through relevant initiatives and participation in Institutional round tables and debatesKey Accountabilities-Leadership:Establish vision & people strategy for the TeamDefine, communicate, embed and measure performance goals and standards in line with OBU objectivesProvide frequent coaching and mentoring to direct reports and talents to advance talent development, retention and succession for critical rolesParticipate and strongly contribute to the LOC and Iberia Oncology Leadership Teams Embed & role model Takeda values, set the tone for Team culture and develop cross-functional way of workingFoster open communication, invite feedback and lead through personal examplesDefine, communicate, embed and measure performance goals and standards in line with OBU objectivesDrive talent acquisition for the OBU and establish Takeda as an employer of choice-Excellence in Execution:Drive operational excellence for the OBU (full ownership of P&L): set and own budget, targets and follow up performance and resultsLead the development of access strategy including pricing and commercial schemes and leverage them to optimize P&LEnsure implementation & regular follow-up of cross-functional plans (e.g.
key account management)Drive accountability to establish standards and KPIs, define metrics and track progress and achievementProvide strategic guidance to the Medical Lead in all medical activities (e.g.
clinical trials, medical engagement activities) and oversee their implementationEnsure execution of lifecycle management locally and evidence generation to support local data needsPromote culture of learning & sharing/benchmarking with Oncology colleagues, and across the organization, to further advance 'excellence in execution'-Strategy and Planning:Support organizational strategy development and ensure strategic needs of the local OBU are heard and fulfilled by above country teams (Region/Global) – clinical development/commercialTake full accountability of strategic decisions for the OBU locally (medical, market access, commercial, etc.
), while ensuring close collaboration within the LOC Leadership teamLead the development and communication of local oncology strategy interacting with Global, EUCAN, and LOC commercial, medical and pricing & market access teamsDrive the implementation of the strategy incorporating Patient, Trust, Reputation, Business (PTRB)Ensure resource allocation according to key strategic focus areas and to allow for impactful executionManage company's risk profile including local 'code of practice'; identify and mitigate risks across BU that may impact TakedaEnsure ethics and compliance are embedded at all levels in the decision-making processEstablish a financial plan for the entire BU, in alignment with overall financial planning process and in close co-operation with EUCAN/Global financial teamLay the groundwork in the BU for moving into new business areas in the future-Customer & Stakeholder Relations:Set the external stakeholder relationship strategy, together with relevant internal teams, and drive communication & interactions for Iberia OBUEngage directly with payers / HTA body with appropriate support to ensure access to the OBU portfolio (according to local governance)Maintain relationships with key customers, KOLs, and scientific societies as well as with payers, Industry associations and PAG representativesEnsure the team lives and demonstrates patient and customer-centricity, defined as listening to and meeting their needs and providing innovative patient- and customer-centric solutions.Ensure that also in the team mindset the patient comes firstParticipate in key customer congresses and events for latest research updates, interactions with KOLs/HCPs and demonstrate Takeda's presence in the fieldEducation and Experience:University Degree and MBA is preferableFluent written and spoken English and ideally PortugueseDirector and above only candidates will be considered for this roleA minimum of 8 years experience in leading cross-functional teams at local or regional level as well as managing and developing people managers Proficiency in Key account management (KAM) modelExperience in managing a P&L or a responsibility for a large budget and salesDemonstrated experience in developing value-adding 'win-win' solutions with external stakeholdersLaunch experience from a similar environment.Previous exposure to Access related topicsProven track record of understanding customers' needs and be able to translate their needs into highly impactful tactics and solutionsInspires and leads the Oncology BU (and the wider Takeda organization) to deliver innovative solutions and services to become best-in-class in OncologyBuilds a collaborative network of relationships with people in a variety of functions, roles and locations and leverages formal and informal networks to accomplish the ambitious goals Creates an open and supportive environment in which learning is are encouraged and fosters the team / talent development and by coaching individuals and providing constructive feedback to establish high performing TeamsKnowledge: Strong knowledge of local Oncology market, business model and local legislation.Deep understanding of healthcare and reimbursement systems as well as treatment pathwaysTherapy and product area knowledge as well as clinical data understandingLocationsLisbon, PortugalWorker TypeEmployeeWorker Sub-TypeRegularTime TypeFull time
