NoOffer DescriptionNew University of LisbonNOVA School of Science and TechnologyDeadline: 04/12/2024Opening of an international selection procedure for the recruitment of a Junior ResearcherThe Director of the Faculty of Science and Technology of NOVA University Lisbon announces an international call for tenders for the recruitment of 1 Junior Researcher in the scientific area of Structural Biology, sub-area Cellulose Structure, with emphasis on Analysing cellulose structure by transmission electron microscopy, on an open-ended employment contract, within the scope of the project BIOMATFAB, financed by European funds under the Horizon Europe research and innovation programme.I - WorkplaceThe place of work will be at the Faculty of Science and Technology of NOVA University, located on the Caparica Campus, at the Department of Chemistry, research centre - UCIBIO - Applied Biomolecular Sciences Unit.The employee will make all journeys, in Portugal or abroad, necessary to carry out their activity.II - Activities and functionThe selected candidate will perform the duties of Junior Researcher and will carry out the following tasks:Carry out research in the field of structural biology with an emphasis on the structure of cotton cellulose; Responsible for the dissolution of cotton cellulose, imaging with transmission electron microscopy, as well as data processing; Supervise team members and the production chain to ensure smooth running of materials produced; Establish and streamlinecontacts and collaboration with project partners, ensuring that objectives are achieved.IV - Modality and durationThis tender procedure is intended for the selection of a doctoral candidate to carry out scientific research activities under a fixed-term employment contract, lasting for the time necessary to carry out the project, up to a maximum of 6 years.V - Candidates Admission CriteriaNational, foreign and stateless candidates who hold a doctoral degree in the scientific area of the Environment and Sustainability may apply.Relevant scientific curriculum in the area of the call.Professional experience (at least 3 years) in supervising teams in an academic environment.Ability to teach chemistry and biochemistry subjects with excellence.Application process must include documentation in Portuguese or English
