The Role: Hiscox are hiring for a Network & Security Engineer to work within our IT Services infrastructure team.

Key Responsibilities: Act as a primary technical contact for key technical areas, coordinating with stakeholders and colleagues as required. Contribute to the planning, design and delivery of IT initiatives. Configure tools to automate the provisioning, testing and deployment of infrastructure. Produce and own system and infrastructure designs, policies and documentation. Provide reports and proposals for improvements to colleagues and stakeholders. Provide advice and guidance to support the adoption of methods and tools. Drive IT Services in the migration towards a code centric model for managing infrastructure. Act as a support escalation point for the 3rd line infrastructure support provider. Proactively manage IT infrastructure to minimise business disruption and identify and drive initiatives to improve the quality and effectiveness of the infrastructure services. Manage and provide 3rd line support for infrastructure platforms in accordance with agreed service levels, standards and processes. Discover and remove technical debt as part of a continuous improvement work ethic. Drive decision making across different teams and disciplines, seeking informed decisions that lead to value-add, quality, appropriate outcomes. Drive the adoption of Agile values, principles and practices within IT Services. Actively contribute to the development of other team members. Embrace change and support the IT Services vision and strategy. Person Specification: Essential Technical Skills: Cisco networking e.g.
switches (Nexus/Catalyst), wireless controllers, DNA Center, Identity Services Engine, SD-Access, ACI (service insertion, ESGs, VMM integration). Zscaler suite e.g.
ZIA, ZPA, ZCC, ZDX. SD-WAN e.g.
Versa. Azure networking e.g.
NSG, VNet peering, VNet gateways, UDR, Private Link, Azure firewall, load balancer. DNS e.g.
Infoblox DDI and Azure DNS. Infrastructure as code tooling e.g.
Terraform, GIT. Routers e.g.
Juniper and Cisco including protocols such as BGP, OSPF. Firewalls e.g.
Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Azure (including ability to configure VPNs, URL filtering, IPS/IDS). Load balancers e.g.
F5 (LTM/DNS/ASM) and NetScaler ADC. Relevant certifications advantageous, such as CCNP Enterprise, DCACI, Azure AZ-700, Palo PCNSE, Checkpoint CCSE etc.
