As a Machine Learning Engineer in our Tech Hub in Portugal, you will be at the forefront of innovation at our company. Engage with stakeholders across various business units to integrate artificial intelligence as a pivotal support tool across our entire value chain, spanning from content processing to monetization. In this position, you will take on an important role within your Scrum team, providing strategic support throughout the entire lifecycle of data-driven application development, overseeing the model development process and ensuring seamless integration into the final product.

What you can expect in this role:
Design and implement machine learning and deep learning techniques that have a significant impact on ProSiebenSat.1's business.
Facilitate the use of statistical data analysis and NLP to extract meaningful business insights.
Design data processing pipelines and identify as well as implement automation use cases.
Manage the development of serverless applications with tasks ranging from database management to data delivery.
Elevate your expertise on state-of-the-art AI/ML cloud platform and features such as infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, event-driven/serverless architecture, and separate processing pipelines for ETL, model training, and inference.

Your essential experience and education:
University degree: M.Sc. or Ph.D. in information technology, computer science, or a related technical field.
First practical experience in: machine learning such as classical machine learning, deep learning models (e.g., decision trees, CNN, and LSTM) as well as relevant technical skills like Python programming (using PySpark, pandas, numpy), SQL, or Bash scripting.
Prior hands-on familiarity with: databases (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB) and AWS, as well as tools like FastAPI, GraphQL.
Affinity for: CI/CD and MLOps tools like Metaflow or MLflow.
Proven ability to: work effectively in an agile setup, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Fluent in: English (Portuguese and/or German language proficiency is a plus).
