With more than 13,000 employees around the world, we are committed to using our energy and heart to drive a better tomorrow.What you will do:Climatic and Meteorological Analysis:Develop predictive climate models that integrate meteorological variables with direct impacts on the energy market;Monitor and analyze real-time meteorological data, providing critical insights for forecasting electricity prices, electricity consumption, and renewable energy production (wind, solar, etc.);Identify climate patterns and anomalies that may affect the balance between supply and consumption in the energy market.Integration of Meteorological Data into Trading Models:Collaborate with the modeling and analytics team to incorporate meteorological data into quantitative models used for price forecasting and trading strategies;Adjust and calibrate models based on short, medium, and long-term forecasts, optimizing trading decisions based on meteorological trends.Decision Support:Provide detailed reports and dashboards on future climatic conditions that may impact energy markets;Contribute to the development of climate risk scenarios and strategies, offering support in the decision-making process for buying and selling energy assets.Research and Innovation:Keep up with the latest innovations and advances in meteorological and climate modeling, proposing the adoption of new tools and techniques;Develop new methodologies and algorithms to improve the accuracy of meteorological forecasts applied to energy trading.Work closely with trading, risk, and operations teams, ensuring that all climatic forecasts are effectively communicated and utilized in the decision-making process;Participate in regular strategic planning meetings, contributing meteorological analyses to the development of market strategies.Employment type: Full-TimeWork site: Hybrid ModelWorkplace: Lisbon or MadridWhat are we looking for:Master's or PhD in Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences, Climatology, or related fields;Additional training in statistics, predictive modeling, or data science is highly valued;Between 3 and 8 years' professional experience in:Meteorological forecasting, preferably with a focus on applications in the energy sector.Climate modeling, with practical knowledge in machine learning and big data techniques.Familiarity with meteorological analysis software and tools, such as WRF (Weather Research and Forecasting Model), ECMWF (European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts), and/or energy forecasting platforms.Experience with climate databases and data visualization tools;Advanced knowledge in stochastic modeling and Monte Carlo simulations;Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to translate technical concepts into actionable insights for the trading team;Proactivity and an innovative mindset, with an interest in researching and applying new methodologies.More than academic knowledge and technical skills, we are looking for ambitious people who are enthusiastic about the future and who bring human skills aligned with our purpose.Equal opportunities for allOur vision is that each person combines their unique characteristics and experiences to fulfill our mission of creating new energy for the planet.
