BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for a "dynamic, results driven" individual to join as Metallurgy & Cleanliness Technician at our new production plant in Viana, Portugal. Key Accountabilities Perform metallurgy tests based on the established procedure as scheduled Perform metallographic analysis in the laboratory for validation of parts and compliance with the welding, porosity, defects and other issues Perform, together with the metrology technician, the annual plan for product audits Performing and support other departments Failure Analysis and Root Cause Corrective Action for process and part anomalies or Quality check failures, warranties, customer incidents, production incidents, tests, improvement plans and others that are necessary Scan and file laboratory reports accordingly Creates and maintains test instrument and test method documentation Plan and follow up on laboratory activities Manage the inventory of test piece and chemical to ensure the smooth operation of lab activity Perform internal equipment verification as stated in respective working instruction Coordinate the calibration activities of equipment used by metallurgy and cleanliness laboratory Evaluation of PPAP samples (Product Part Approval Process) Product Audits according to the VDA 6
