Our client is one of the leading parcel companies in Portugal, with an extensive network of agencies and Parcel Shops. It has established a stable European shipping network, covering many countries and some US states. Over time, it has expanded its portfolio with innovative solutions to serve the parcel market, especially in e-commerce.
Responsibilities:
Be a part of the Software Delivery management team, responsible for an engineering team focused on middleware technologies with approx. 10 employees;
Take over the permanent personal and professional development of your engineers and ensure their optimal deployment in our agile product teams;
Ensure continuous optimization of your engineering area in terms of synergies, advisory, efficiency, and output as well as the technologies, processes, and tools used;
Responsible for the middleware engineering vision, strategy, and roadmap within your area of responsibility, contributing to build and support the associated platforms;
Provide a high output delivery environment across the different products.
Requirements:
Computer science degree or equivalent;
10+ years experience in software engineering, and initial experiences as an engineering manager;
Consolidated experience and know-how in middleware related technologies (e.g. API Management - Gateways, Orchestration, Governance and Documentation - Streaming, Messaging, Application Servers, Microservice Architecture and related Patterns, etc.);
Experience in the area of Business Process Management (BPM) and Business Rule Engine (BRE);
Platform engineering knowledge/experience is a plus;
Understanding of software development processes;
Passionate about agile values, people, and technology;
Very good communication and listening skills;
Passion to shape high performing development teams;
Excellent English skills (both written and spoken);
Available for travelling.
