Position Overview The M365 Senior IT Engineer is a critical role within the IT department, responsible for the design, implementation, and management of the Microsoft 365 (M365) environment. This individual will also oversee broader company IT requirements, ensuring the organization's technology infrastructure is robust, secure, and aligned with business goals. The role demands extensive experience with M365, strong technical expertise, and a strategic mindset to support and enhance the company's IT capabilities.
Key Responsibilities: Microsoft 365 Administration:Design, implement, and manage M365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and other related services.Monitor M365 service health, performance, and security.Manage user accounts, licenses, and security groups within the M365 environment.Develop and enforce M365 governance policies and best practices.IT Infrastructure Management:Oversee the overall IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage.Ensure the availability, performance, and security of IT systems.Manage IT projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and documentation.Security and Compliance:Implement and maintain security measures to protect data and systems.Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).Conduct regular security assessments and audits.Respond to and mitigate security incidents.Technical Support and Troubleshooting:Provide advanced technical support for M365 and other IT systems.Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.Coordinate with vendors and third-party support as needed.Collaboration and Communication:Work closely with various departments to understand and address their IT needs.Communicate IT policies and updates to the organization.Provide training and support to staff on M365 and other IT tools.Strategic IT Planning:Assess current IT capabilities and recommend improvements.Develop and implement IT strategies that align with business objectives.Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies.Qualifications Technical Expertise:In-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365 services and administration.Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components (servers, networks, storage).Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.Experience with Azure Active Directory and related cloud services.Security and Compliance:Knowledge of IT security principles and best practices.Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).Experience with security tools and technologies (firewalls, antivirus, etc.).Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting:Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve technical problems.Project Management:Experience managing IT projects from initiation to completion.Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Communication and Interpersonal Skills:Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various teams.Strategic Thinking:Ability to align IT strategies with business goals.Proactive in identifying opportunities for technology improvements.Experience:A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT, with a focus on M365 administration.Microsoft 365 Certifications are highly desirable.Education:Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
