About the role The Localization Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple projects from initiation to completion, ensuring specified deliverables are met. This role involves defining project scope, performing file analysis using memoQ, creating schedules and quotes, and effectively allocating resources to ensure profitability. The manager oversees project operations, maintains customer relationships, and ensures projects are delivered on time and within budget while acting as the main point of contact. Additionally, the position includes enforcing company policies within teams, managing team dynamics, ensuring financial control of project gross margins, and maintaining responsive communication and effective relationships with internal teams.
Key Responsibilities Managing LQA Teams on assigned projects across many platforms (PC, Console, and Mobile) to achieve high-quality results.Working directly with LQA Project Managers on strategic, budgeting and capacity planning and sometimes contract negotiations, ensuring optimal resource allocations across projects and studios.Daily management of allocated project resources and tester's day-to-day performance.Coordinating project management activities, resources, and equipment into manageable daily team actions and setting timeframes and milestones.Daily review of project priorities, risks and severities with the Project Manager.Engaging with LQA testing teams to proactively resolve project issues.Lead daily stand-up meetings and project planning meetings to relay progress and/or issues to the LQA Project Manager.Team mentoring and guidance to ensure high quality standards throughout including developing and reporting on key quality metrics and KPIs.Working closely with Project Managers on team structure, headcount resource requirements, performance and developing a training process for new and existing team members.Requirements Native level fluency in English, particularly reporting, reading & writing. (Another language highly advantageous).Extensive experience within a Quality Assurance role as a LQA Tester or similar (preferably within the gaming industry, but not essential).Experience running teams in either game development or software LQA, with proven leadership experience.Highly creative, proactive, enthusiastic, conscientious, and solution-oriented.Exceptional team management and mentoring skills.Strong understanding of LQA and Submission best practices for Console and MobileAbility to mentor, guide and influence other members of the team to improve standards and an ability to lead by exampleAttention to detail with an inquisitive mindset, not afraid to ask difficult questions where requiredAbility to multi-task and prioritise tasks based on multiple sources of information, with excellent time management skillsProblem solver with a "can-do" attitude, to ensure that the LQA team runs in an efficient wayAptitude for gaining understanding in new technologies and processes quicklyExperience with bug databases administration (such as Jira)Knowledge of the current generation of games consoles and PCs, and the latest mobile platforms (preferred).An interest in, and understanding of, the video game industry would be advantageous.
