Our Customer is seeking a Localization Producer on a contract basis to support their Marketing localization efforts for their retail customers. This role is 100% remote in PST hours. The localization producer will coordinate localization projects with vendors, localization team staff, as well as marketing, legal, and other departments across the company. The environment is fast-paced, requiring autonomous work and the ability to handle aggressive delivery schedules. We are looking for someone who is flexible, eager to communicate cross-functionally, and can respond quickly and enthusiastically to changes. The right mix of organizational and communication skills is the key to success. Attention to detail and the ability to lead priorities and multiple high-profile promotions simultaneously are critical.
ResponsibilitiesSupports the content localization process of Marketing initiatives into 16+ languages.Plans and manages project intake, translation, transcreation, validation, copywriting, editing, layout, and in-situ reviews based on content needs.Partners closely with Cross-functional Producers and manages end-to-end localization production following creative processes and best practices.Defines strategic prioritizations of projects and manages traffic schedules and scope to identify resourcing needs against workload and budget.Attends meetings, works closely with Production and Creative teams to understand business needs and how that impacts production lead times. Shares production timelines with stakeholders and adjusts based on the strategic prioritization.Briefs in-house writing team or external vendors on localization efforts, ensuring they have detailed business context and project instructions to produce world-class localization.Acts as the primary point of escalation for all content and linguistic queries from linguists. Works with business partners to resolve content and translation queries or bugs. QualificationsBA in Linguistics/Translation, Graphic Design, Marketing, or business-related field.5+ years experience as project manager or producer within the localization industry or within an international creative agency/marketing environment.Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities across country-based talent in multiple time zones, remaining calm under pressure.Must exhibit a high degree of accountability.Strong appreciation for product/cultural nuances by geography.Detailed knowledge of translation, localization processes, and traffic production.Strong communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and organizational skills.Creative and analytical thinking, a can-do attitude, and flexibility to accommodate evolving business needs and comfort with a high level of ambiguity.Language skills in one or more languages other than English strongly preferred.Experience with translation and project management tools e.g. SDL WorldServer or other translation management systems is preferred.Experience in multilingual graphic design, desktop publishing, and knowledge of programs like iWork, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop is preferred.
