In Vestas, we #PowerTheSolution – Can you?Vestas Technology & Operations > Research & Development (R&D) > LaC Onshore Product ResponseThe Loads & Control (LaC) organization, being part of Product Application and Control, is responsible for designing and optimizing Vestas' products for optimal performance, loads and control strategies to design product responses to market roadmap requirements, and translating product roadmap into module requirements with full value chain integration.ResponsibilitiesAs a Loads Engineer, you will be handling the technical aspects of Loads and Control development for a specific product from feasibility to full validation and certification, including, but not limited to:Balance the trade-offs between power production and loading, in close cooperation with our internal stakeholdersLife-cycle optimization for legacy and ongoing products through learning from fleet experienceDevelopment and validation of wind turbine aeroelastic modelsConduct test and integration of innovative technologies into new productsCalculate design loads, power performance, and noise levels for internal and external stakeholdersGuide the certification process of wind turbines, including performing the design loads verification test campaign on prototype wind turbinesQualificationsA Ph.D. or M.Sc. in structural, civil, wind, mechanical, control, or mechatronic engineeringMinimum of 2-5 years of experience within the wind industryProven history in running wind turbine product development from a load and control perspectiveGood competencies within innovative simulation of mechanical systemsExperience or knowledge of aeroelastic tools such as Flex5, Bladed or HAWC2Programming experience (e.g. in Matlab)Knowledge of control of mechanical systemsProject management certification can add valueAbility to improve processes and test status quo for how load calculations are conductedAbility to handle projects following milestones and meeting deadlinesAbility to promote engineering solutions within the area from start to endSkilled at handling multiple stakeholders at various levels of the organizationPragmatic and quality-consciousResult-oriented with a good focus on the taskA creative approach to new tasksAbility to work as part of a team as well as with independent tasksWhat We OfferWe offer an opportunity to be part of a global team in an exciting business with a very comprehensive product range.
