.Vestas Technology & Operations > Research & Development (R&D) > LaC Onshore Product ApplicationLoads & Control (LaC) organization, being part of Product Application and Control, is responsible for designing and optimizing Vestas' products for optimal performance, loads and control strategies to design product responses to market roadmap requirements, translating product roadmap into module requirements with full value chain integration.As a Loads and Control Engineer, you will take responsibility for growing and developing optimal Loads & Control solutions for product lifecycle application and utilize the full potential of onshore turbines or improve commercial edge as per market needs. You will be part of a global team distributed across Denmark, Portugal and India.ResponsibilitiesAs a Loads and Control Engineer, you will be improving the technical aspects of Loads and Control development for a specific product from feasibility to full validation and certification. Including, but limited to:Life Cycle Optimization for legacy and ongoing products through learning from fleet experienceDevelopment and validation of wind turbine aeroelastic modelsSupport test and integration of innovative technologies onto new productsCalculate design loads, power performance and noise levels, for internal and external stakeholdersFacilitate the certification process of wind turbines, including performing the design loads verification test campaign on prototype wind turbinesIn close cooperation with our internal stakeholders, balance the trade-offs between power production and loadingQualificationsA Ph.D. or M.Sc. in structural, civil, wind, mechanical, control or mechatronics engineering0-2 years' experience within the wind industryProven history in running wind turbine product development from a load and control perspectiveGood competencies within innovative simulation of mechanical systemsExperience or knowledge of aeroelastic tools such as Flex5, Bladed or HAWC2Programming experience for example in MatlabExperience in handling projects following milestones and meeting deadlines, and maybe you are certified in project managementKnowledge of control of mechanical systemsCompetenciesAbility to improve processes and test status quo for how load calculations are conductedAbility to promote engineering solutions within the area from start to endSkilled at handling multiple stakeholders at various levels of the organizationPragmatic and quality-consciousResult-oriented with a good focus on the taskA creative approach to new tasksAbility to work as part of a team as well as with independent tasksWhat We OfferWe offer an opportunity to be part of a global team in an exciting business with a very comprehensive product range.
