Live-in Housekeeper Opportunity in the Capital of Portugal We are seeking an experienced and reliable housemaid to work in our private household. The housemaid will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the home, including the kitchen, living room, dining room, bedrooms, bathrooms, and outdoor areas.
Key Responsibilities: Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the house, including but not limited to:Sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping floorsDusting and polishing furniture and fixturesCleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, kitchen, and other living spacesWashing, ironing, and folding laundryChanging and laundering bed linens and towelsPerform deep cleaning tasks on a scheduled basis, such as:Carpet cleaning and shampooingUpholstery and drapery cleaningWindow washingSilver and brass polishingOrganise and maintain household storage spaces, including closets, cupboards, and pantriesAssist with meal preparation, cooking, and kitchen clean-up as needed in coordination with the chefPerform light gardening duties and maintain outdoor living areasEnsure the proper disposal of waste and recycling materialsManage inventory and purchasing of household supplies and cleaning productsReport any maintenance issues or necessary repairs to the homeownerMaintain a high level of discretion and respect for the family's privacyQualifications and Skills: A minimum of 3 years of experience as a housekeeper in a private residence, luxury hotel, or similar settingExcellent knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and productsAbility to work independently and take initiative in managing tasks and schedulesStrong organisational and time management skillsHigh attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and orderly homeAbility to communicate effectively in English and/or PortugueseWillingness to adapt to the family's routines and preferencesA valid driver's license (preferred)Legally eligible to work in PortugalMust pass a background check and provide verifiable referencesBenefits: Competitive salary, commensurate with experience circa €40,000 to €45,000 per annum, a high salary for Portugal (6 days per week)Private accommodation provided within the residence, including all utilities, only kitchen is sharedFood allowanceAnnual paid vacationHealth insurance contributionConsultant: Andy Hodges
