We are currently looking for aLegal Officerto be part of our team in our office in Paço de Arcos, Lisbon.
This person will be responsible for supporting the Legal Department to put in place and maintain the most effective governance framework for the organization and its entities, meeting their individual and global needs, as well as for helping the organization and its entities to negotiate and execute agreements with its customers and any other third parties.
Responsibilities:
The Legal Officer oversees supporting the Legal Director in the following tasks:
Draft and/or review legal letters, contracts and agreements
Draft, review and negotiate where appropriate, a wide range of new/existing commercial agreements (NDA included) and related documents that minimize risks and maximize legal rights
Review advertising, editorial content, public relations materials and other promotional for legal, compliance and regulatory issues
Set up and maintain a structured organization of all tasks related to legal compliance and governance matters
Monitor legal obligations under agreements to ensure compliance, as requested
Internal consultancy for all legal and governance aspects regarding existing and new business
Supervise and enforce compliance with group policies, guidelines and standards
Advise on statutory compliance matters and support statutory monitoring of the group
Provide legal support and represent Acolad as needed in civil litigations; Manage and supervise litigation and disputes involving the interests of the organization
Advise on legal matters that should be directed to external counsels and liaise with/assist external counsels including monitoring of external consulting costs
Manage Acolad's implementation of data protection measures necessary to compliance with GDPR
Perform other clerical and legal reporting functions that may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time
Requirements
University degree in Law or equivalent qualification
Relevant experience (min. 1 year) in a legal department or similar service
Business experience within a multinational organization is an added advantage
Strong awareness and ability to understand legal aspects of business
Knowledgeable of governance, risk and compliance systems
Excellent interpersonal skills: negotiation / relationship building skills
Comfortable operating within multiple cultures and ways of thinking
Ability to prioritize and multitask
Flexibility and adaptability in work approach
Ability to collaborate globally and to influence the organizations
Strong attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Fluency in English.
Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Outlook)
