The Role The Legal Counsel specializing in HR and Contracts plays a critical role in supporting the company's legal and compliance initiatives. This position is responsible for delivering comprehensive legal advice and support on a wide range of HR and contractual matters.
Key Responsibilities HR Law and Compliance: Advise on all aspects of employment law, including hiring, termination, performance management, and employee relations. Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local and international labor laws. Manage employee contracts, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating employment agreements. Provide guidance on employee benefits, compensation, and equity. Contract Negotiation and Drafting: Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including vendor agreements, partnership agreements, and commercial contracts. Ensure that all contracts are compliant with applicable laws and regulations. Manage contract lifecycle, including renewals, amendments, and terminations. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with HR and contractual matters. Conduct regular legal audits and compliance reviews. Develop and implement risk management strategies. Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date on evolving legal and regulatory changes in the cannabis industry. Ensure compliance with EU-GMP standards and other relevant regulations. Provide guidance on regulatory issues related to HR and contracts. Qualifications Law degree from an accredited law school. Experience in employment law, contract law, and regulatory compliance. Strong understanding of EU labor law and regulations. Excellent drafting and negotiation skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks. Fluency in Portuguese and English.
