.Learning Facilitator - SEA:ME: Software Engineering in Automotive and Mobility Ecosystems @ 42 Porto ABOUT US: Shaken Not Stirred is a company founded in 2019 whose mission is to empower future generations by developing and implementing education projects. Shaken is the entity responsible for promoting, implementing, and managing in Portugal 42 (both in Lisboa and Porto) and TUMO (both in Coimbra and Lisboa), both projects that distinguish themselves for their innovative pedagogical approach and social impact. ABOUT THE PROJECT: The automotive industry has been undergoing massive digital transformation over the past few years, transitioning into a model that relies less on traditional hardware ingenuity and more on software-driven electronics. Trends like automation, shared mobility, connectivity, electrification, and autonomy are increasingly dominating the global vehicle market. The change is happening rapidly with no signs of slowing down, which means that educational institutions are faced with the challenge of producing enough talent to meet this demand for highly specialized digital skills. To respond to this challenge, we are launching a new education program called SEA:ME: Software Engineering in Automotive and Mobility Ecosystems. This open source study program at master-level was developed and is owned by 42 Wolfsburg coding school, with content creation supported by industry partners including VW, Microsoft, RedHat, and others. Starting in Portugal and Korea in 2024, SEA:ME is shared under open source licensing with institutions worldwide for non-profit education of young professionals. And Shaken Not Stirred is among the first institutions to launch it. This is a 1-year advanced master's level curriculum program focused on coding and mobility, training students in areas from in-vehicle circuitry programming to mobility ecosystems that guide and structure how we all move. The learning methodology is entirely project-based and combines teamwork and peer-to-peer learning (all projects are done in teams of 3) with AGILE methodologies, all done on state-of-the-art premises that we are setting up in Porto, in the facilities of 42 Porto. We are planning on launching the first cohort of around 30 students in October 2024. This program is uniquely structured through collaboration with top-tier companies in the automotive sector. These industry leaders will sponsor each cohort, allowing them to send some of their own employees to participate in the program. The rest of the cohort will be composed of 42 students, providing a dynamic mix of experienced professionals and fresh talent familiar with peer-to-peer learning and project-based methodologies. This partnership not only enriches the learning experience but also ensures that sponsoring companies have prime access to recruit talented graduates from the program
