Department
Hub module oversees, maintain, and develop the complete Vestas Hub program. The tasks range from structural engineering over to highly specialized FEM calculations, requirements definitions, risk management specifications, certification of components, DFMEA, test planning and execution. Hub Structure is a submodule within the Hub module. We are responsible for the structural design of Hubs, development of structural design software and for updating and maintaining the structural design guidelines and manufacturing specifications among other relevant tasks relevant for the Hub structural design.
Responsibilities
Provide daily support to the team members in a wide range of technical issues ensuring quick and effective choices
Improve the system engineering area by owning the D-FMEA and P-FMEA
Coordinate cost-out initiatives ensuring a continuous flow of innovative ideas
Develop the team technical leadership competences and autonomy by mentoring the area functional lead and the junior staff
Support the submodule owner with review and sign-off of technical deliverables
Support the submodule owner by coordinating various business critical tasks, i.e.: client meetings, CIM cases resolution, suppliers' initiatives, stakeholder's communication
Qualifications
Bachelor or Master's degree in Structural, Mechanical or Civil Engineering
Experience in the design of steel structures, e.g. dynamically loaded structures
Experience in structural assessments using FEA (preferably Ansys)
Documented history of technical leadership in projects
People leadership experience
Competencies
We see the ideal candidate possessing the following competencies and personality:
Comprehensive knowledge of FEA software (preferably Ansys)
Experienced in System Engineering (D-FMEA and P-FMEA processes)
Design experience of large steel structures including certification with relevant entities, i.e.: DNV / TUV
Deep knowledge of design guidelines i.e.: Eurocodes, IEC, IIW
Knowledge on following areas: fatigue analysis, dynamic analysis, weld assessment and bolted joints design
Experience with design of Hubs for wind turbines or other cast iron components
Ability to delegate and create results through others
Be able to take decisions effectively with incomplete data
Experienced in implementing large projects with multiple stakeholders
Able to understand the impact that a scope change will have on the project
Should exhibit 'Coordinating from front' behavior
Good communication skills which enable you to convey complex problems to a wide range of stakeholders
