Your New Role
As a lead software engineer in this unit, you will be responsible for guiding and mentoring teams of engineers as they design, develop, and deploy these advanced embedded systems. This includes providing technical direction, overseeing project execution, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and secure solutions.
Your strong technical expertise, combined with your leadership skills, will be essential in driving the continuous evolution of our embedded systems' capabilities. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, and systems engineers, to push the boundaries of what's possible in the world of connected, intelligent, and safety-critical embedded technologies.
What You'll Need to Succeed
Your Profile:
Degree in Computer Engineering or a related field
Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development, preferably in embedded systems
Proficiency in English at B2 level or higher
Skilled at developing and guiding high-performing engineering teams.
Eager to work in a highly collaborative environment.
Adept at client-facing communication and negotiation, building strong customer relationships and securing favourable outcomes.
Required Technical Skills:
Hands-on experience in developing, deploying and maintaining close-to-metal embedded software, ideally for real-time systems using devices based in Cortex-M0, -M0+, -M4 or -M7, or similar.
Solid knowledge in C and C++ (C++11, 14, 17).
Experience with intra-board protocols (e.g. I2C, SPI, UART)
Experience with Linux and Git
Good OOP knowledge.
Good level of Python knowledge is a plus
Experience with Embedded Linux (e.g. Yocto) is a plus.
Good debugging and problem-solving skills, including in-circuit (using e.g. J-LINK).
Experience in an Agile way-of-working (e.g. SCRUM, SAFe).
Required Soft Skills:
Curious and proactive personality, willing to actively collaborate with other engineers.
Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
Knowledge and experience working in Agile and SAFe methodologies
Flexibility and adaptability to changing project requirements
Strong team spirit with the ability to listen to colleagues and confidently express your own ideas
Willingness to take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion
Proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
Ability to propose and implement improvements to existing systems and workflows
