As part of our growth, we are looking for a Lead Generation Specialist who is eager to roll up their sleeves and help us identify and engage with potential customers at a pivotal time in our startup's trajectory.

Job Summary: As our Lead Generation Specialist, you will be instrumental in helping us build and scale our customer base. Your role will be to research, prospect, and qualify leads—focusing on engineering firms and scientific laboratories that are developing cutting-edge solutions and could benefit from our high-performance simulation infrastructure. With a solid product, a strong value proposition, and a fast-paced startup environment, this is an exciting opportunity to help shape our sales strategy and drive growth.

 
Key Responsibilities:Prospecting & Research: Identify and research engineering companies and scientific labs that are at the forefront of developing innovative solutions in industries such as aerospace, energy, materials science, environmental modelling, drug discovery, etc.Use tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, Apollo.io, and Crunchbase to build highly targeted lead lists, focusing on organizations that rely on computational simulation (e.g., using OpenFOAM, GROMACS, XBeach, etc.).Lead Generation: Generate new leads by identifying companies that need high-performance computing infrastructure for their simulations, and who may be currently underserved or looking to scale their capabilities.Use lead generation tools such as ZoomInfo, Apollo.io, and Seamless.AI to find the right decision-makers (e.g., CTOs, Lead Engineers, Research Directors) and build strong outreach lists.Technical Understanding & Market Research: Develop a deep understanding of how different industries use open-source simulation software and high-performance computing to accelerate their work.Leverage Clearbit, LeadIQ, Hunter.io, and other data enrichment tools to gather key insights about potential leads, ensuring accurate and up-to-date contact information.Cold Outreach & Initial Contact: Craft personalized outreach messages that speak to the specific pain points and needs of potential customers—emphasizing how our product can enable more efficient, scalable simulations for engineering and scientific applications.Use email automation tools (e.g., Lemlist, Mailshake, Outreach) to scale outreach efforts while maintaining a high level of personalization.Lead Qualification: Engage with leads to assess their fit for our platform, determining their level of interest and understanding of their current computational needs.Use a lead scoring framework to prioritize high-potential leads and ensure that they are passed along to the sales team for deeper engagement.Collaboration with Sales Team: Work closely with the sales team to ensure the smooth transition of qualified leads and share key insights to help close deals.Regularly participate in team meetings to share learnings and adjust strategies based on feedback and performance.Reporting & Metrics: Track and report key metrics such as lead generation volume, outreach success, and lead qualification through CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).Analyze performance data and optimize outreach strategies to improve conversion rates and lead quality.Key Requirements:Experience & Skills: Some experience in lead generation, sales development, or business development, preferably in a startup or fast-paced environment. This could include internships or previous roles in marketing, sales, or customer outreach.A strong interest in technology and computational infrastructure, with a curiosity to learn about the engineering, scientific, and simulation industries.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft personalized outreach and build rapport with potential customers.Self-starter with a positive, can-do attitude and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, constantly evolving environment.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.Tools & Platforms: Familiarity with CRM systems like HubSpot, Salesforce, or Pipedrive is a plus, but not required.Comfortable using email outreach tools (e.g., Lemlist, Mailshake, Outreach) and lead generation platforms like LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, and Apollo.io. Training on these tools will be provided.Experience with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail) and basic productivity tools.Skills: Ability to research and identify potential leads through online resources and databases.Strong writing skills to craft compelling and personalized outreach messages to potential customers.Basic understanding of how businesses use technology to solve problems and an eagerness to learn about simulation infrastructure and computational software.Comfortable in a startup environment, where flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly are essential.Preferred Qualifications:Background in Marketing or Sales:Previous experience in a sales, marketing, or customer success role, especially in a startup or tech-driven company, is a big plus.Experience conducting market research or working with targeted outreach campaigns (e.g., email campaigns, cold calling, social media engagement).Education & Training:A background in business, marketing, or a related field is ideal, but not required.Exposure to marketing strategy, customer segmentation, and sales funnels is helpful.Personal Attributes:Passion for working in early-stage companies and excitement about the opportunity to contribute to a company's growth at a key stage of its development.Comfortable with problem-solving and resourcefulness, knowing how to tackle challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset.Why Join Us?Be Part of Something Big: You'll be joining a startup that is growing rapidly and making a tangible impact in the engineering and scientific research sectors.
