Offer Description Instituto de Biologia Experimental e Tecnológica (iBET), Oeiras, Portugal, has an open position for a research fellowship in the field of Biological Engineering available within the project "Next generation, off-the-shelf, non fratricide-directed CAR immunotherapy for relapse/refractory T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia" Ref. 101113067, financed by the European Commission.

Education Level: Master Degree or equivalent
Skills/Qualifications:
Master in Biological Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemistry and related areas, with a final grade equal or superior to 15/20.
Experience in:
Mammalian or human stem cell culture techniques;
Cell culture in bioreactor;
Analytics for characterization of cells (flow cytometry, metabolism, immunofluorescence microscopy);
3D cell culture;
CAR-T cell manufacturing.
Proficient use of the English language, both spoken and written (candidates with internships and/or periods abroad will be valued). Motivation for applied research and good teamwork skills will be valued.
Work place: The project will be developed at the Stem and Immune Cells Bioengineering Laboratory of Instituto de Biologia Experimental e Tecnológica , under the scientific supervision of Dr. Margarida Serra.
Fellowship Duration: The fellowship will have a duration of 6 months, eventually renewed until the end of the project, without prejudice to the maximum limits foreseen by law. The expected starting date is 1 of January 2025.
Notification of Results: A list with the order of selection of candidates will be published in a public and visible place at the Instituto de Biologia Experimental e Tecnológica (www.ibet.pt), and the selected candidate will be notified by e-mail .
Timing and Application Format: Applications will be accepted from 21st November until 6th December 2024.

Selection process Selection criteria: The selection of the candidates will be made according to the following:
The selection methods to be used will be carried out by curriculum assessment (CV) in accordance with the admission requirements. Interviews will be conducted only when necessary to distinguish candidates with similar curriculum classifications; in this case, the classification will be based on 80% of the curriculum and 20% of the interview.
Applicants who do not meet the above admission requirements will not be eligible.
