The Medical and Information Technology (MIT) department is responsible for both medical technology and all information technology systems and facilities at the Catholic Hospital Bochum, which is part of the critical infrastructure (KRITIS). The Information Technology department at MIT is divided into the areas of clinical IT applications, IT hardware support and IT infrastructure.
