Subproject PPS2 of this agenda focuse s on the development of an air monitoring sensor for the early detection of pathogenic bacterial species. As part of this development, we ar e pioneering a novel approach for Volatile Organic Compound preconcentration. We are looking for a Junior Research Fellow to contribute to our efforts to successfully deliver a prototype by the end of 2025 for the detection and identification of bacteria through the effective monitoring of their associated Volatile Organic Compounds emission. Suitable candidates should be holder of a MSc degree in a pertinent field of study to pursue R&D activities on gas sensor design, development, implementation, and deployment. Job Duties The job duties will be the following: Validate a prototype Volatile Organic Compound pre-concentrat or ; Test rig design and implementation ; Calibrate a gas sensor with GC-MS ; Develop s oftware for hardware control. Mandatory Qualifications Education MSc in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Applied Physics, or another related field. Experience Expertise in scientific experimental design ; Data acquisition experience with custom designed hardware set-up ; Hardware control via software, such as LabVIEW, for example. Technical Skills Analytical chemistry ; Software coding.
