Offer Description This position is a research and teaching position. The research will be carried out in the CoRaKiD research laboratory, and the teaching will be conducted in the Physiology department of Sorbonne University.
The Inserm Institute is the only organization for research in human health in France, covering different fields of biomedical research. The proposed research topic aligns with the priorities and performance contract between Inserm and the French government, promoting excellence and innovative research while supporting a research program encompassing the continuum of health research. The objective of our unit is to combat kidney disease, a major public health issue. The research projects aim to better understand the mechanisms responsible for kidney disease and identify new targets and therapeutic strategies, facilitated by our implementation in the Tenon Hospital.
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a significant public health burden affecting millions globally. Despite progress in understanding the complex mechanisms of CKD progression, current treatments remain only partially effective. Our team focuses on identifying new mediators of renal diseases that could serve as therapeutic targets or new biomarkers for diagnosis in CKD patients. Our experimental approach includes modern techniques such as single-cell omics, innovative preclinical models of chronic nephropathy, organ-on-chip approaches, and patient cohorts with renal disease.
The candidate should propose their own research project aimed at identifying new pathophysiological mechanisms, biomarkers, and/or therapeutic targets for CKD.
In terms of teaching, the chairholder will participate in teaching renal and cardiovascular pathophysiology for Master students.
