Your tasks:
You will lead a team of over 20 people who provide solutions and support for workplace-related IT services on the university campus. Together with your team, you will advise the departments on applications, requirements and technologies for desktop solutions. You are responsible for the service desk as the central first point of contact for usage requests and manage the accounts and access to all data center services for approx. 30,000 university members. You and your team design and develop central client management solutions for secure terminal server and desktop systems on campus. You will monitor the market for new technologies and working methods in your area, evaluate their potential applications and share your experiences in collaboration with other universities. You design and negotiate hardware and software framework agreements (licenses) for workplace equipment in cooperation with other university institutions and with the CAU's Procurement Department. Your profile:
Ideally, you have a university degree in computer science or a related field of engineering or natural sciences. You have several years of management experience, ideally in the aforementioned area of responsibility You have a broad, in-depth knowledge of general IT. You have sound experience in IT support / service desk processes. You have very good knowledge of the administration and automation of large client-server environments under Microsoft, Linux and/or Mac OS. You know the standard protection mechanisms for securing and intrusion detection on user end devices. You know the common license models and their implementation You are an open-minded, communicative and emphatic (leadership) personality who works and leads independently, in a goal-oriented and appreciative manner. You work in a solution-oriented manner and are good at structuring and documenting complex relationships. You have a high level of motivation for your own further training and development as well as for exchange and cooperation with other university data centers. Very good written and spoken German and English skills are required (at least level C1) Desirable are:
Experience in the working methods of universities, relevant specialist knowledge and experience in IT requirements management and/or in the ITIL processes incident, problem or opportunity management, requirements for IT security and data protection (GDPR) are an advantage.
