A high growth, impact fund with a mission to invest in innovation, technologies and services within the Blue Economy, is building out their European Investment team.After raising €130 million since launching its growth-stage impact fund in November 2021, the firm is poised for their second fund raise in 2025.
The Founders have over 65 years industry, impact, and investment experience and are supported by world-leading experts and advisors in the sustainable and regenerative economies.
With this backing, the purpose-led €150 million impact fund is well on track for huge growth.Their expanding team is now hiring an Investment Principal or Director to join their team as they scale.They will work closely with the Chief Investment Officer in sourcing, leading, due-diligence, transacting and managing the firm's Global investment strategy.The Chief Investment Officer is looking for an experienced Principal, who has progressed quickly in the career to date.
You will now be keen to step into an Investment Director role, with the support of the CIO.Key responsibilities:Support the CIO and deal leads in investment operations (across all areas of private capital investment including product-specific diligence, market analysis, conducting primary and secondary research, development of investment themes, modelling, due diligence, structuring, legal documentation, negotiation, and investment committee presentations).Monitor financial and operational conditions and industry dynamics of assigned Global portfolio companies.Support existing portfolio investments by providing direct operational support to the management teams.
Proactively work with the management and board of portfolio companies.Develop an "informed perspective" of assigned sectors, including managing and building sectorial due diligence and knowledge set.Key Experience and Skills:Proven Private Equity investment experience from a mid to large Fund across different industries and geographies (transaction value 25-75 million).Ideally 2 years working as a Principal and keen to step into an Investment Director role.You will be a strong executor who is assertive, analytical and a strong team player.Open minded, even tempered, conscientious and keen to learn and develop.Proven experience in working with a wide range of businesses, both in size (from small to multinational corporate) and business stage (from start-up to full maturity).Experience leading negotiations with multiple stakeholders and executing a wide range of agreements.Able to manage a sophisticated investment process under the supervision of the CIO from beginning to end, including experience in legal and financial due diligence, having demonstrated experience overseeing and leading deal teams.Strong commitment to impact investments is preferable but not essential.This is an excellent time to join a fast-growing impact fund in either our London or Lisbon office.
