What you will be doing Assist in developing and maintaining backend services and APIs using Golang, Python, or PHP Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new features and improve existing ones Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices in software development Help optimize database queries and improve application performance Assist in troubleshooting and debugging issues in production environments Contribute to the development of internal tools and automation scripts Learn and apply software design patterns and principles in an e-commerce context Participate in agile development processes and team meetings What we are looking for Fresh graduates or currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field Strong interest in backend development and e-commerce technologies Basic knowledge of at least one of the following languages: Golang, Python, or PHP Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) Understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture Basic knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL) Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Excellent communication skills in English Preferred Qualifications: Experience with web development frameworks (e.g., Gin for Golang, Django for Python, or Laravel for PHP) Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) Understanding of e-commerce concepts and challenges Experience with unit testing and test-driven development Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) Join Jumia's tech team and be part of the digital revolution transforming commerce in Africa.
