Offer Description Pursuant to the provisions of article 11, paragraph 2, of Decree-Law no. 57/2016, of August 29, it becomes public that, by the order of the Director, Professor Helena Canhão, dated October 30, 2024, the opening of an international selection competition procedure has been authorized for the recruitment of one Assistant Researcher position, under an uncertain fixed-term employment contract, pursuant to the Labor Code, and within the period set by Decree-Law No. 57/2016, of August 29, amended by Law No. 57/2017, of July 19, at the Faculty of Medical Sciences | NOVA Medical School (FCM | NMS), NOVA University of Lisbon (UNL).
The monthly salary to be assigned corresponds to index 195, 1st level of the Assistant Researcher category of the scientific research career, in accordance with Annex I of Decree-Law No. 124/99, of April 20.
1. Position Overview
The Assistant Researcher to be hired will perform duties inherent to the professional category of assistant researcher as provided in Article 5 of the Statute of the Scientific Research Career, in the scientific area of biomedicine. Special consideration will be given to scientific or technical contributions in the strategic areas of LS4Future and iNOVA4Health, namely: Neurosciences and Vision Diseases; Cardio-Metabolic Diseases; Oncobiology; Disease Mechanisms; Precision Medicine; and New Therapies.
2. Admission Requirements:
Portuguese citizens, foreigners and stateless candidates with a scientific and professional curriculum vitae that reveals a profile appropriate to the activity to be developed may apply, with the following requirements:
To hold a PhD degree in Biomedical Sciences or related areas;
If the applicant is not a native speaker of Portuguese or English, he/she should possess language skills at level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) in at least one of the two languages.
The candidates for the competition who hold qualifications obtained abroad must provide proof of the recognition, equivalence, or registration of the doctoral degree, in accordance with the applicable legislation.
3. Formalization of Applications
All the application documents listed below must be submitted in Portuguese or English language:
Curriculum Vitae, duly dated and signed;
A narrative portfolio (or narrative curriculum), limited to 4 pages;
A scientific project for the next 5 years, limited to 5 pages;
Copy of a PhD degree certificate or diploma;
Separate copies of the 2 to 5 papers that the candidate considers best represent his/her most significant contributions;
Other documents relevant for the assessment of the suitability of the profile requested.
4. Methods and Selection Criteria
The selection methods to be used are the approval in absolute merit and the evaluation of the candidates' scientific and curricular background, portfolio/narrative, and proposed research project.
5. Notification of Candidates
Candidates will be notified of the list of admitted and excluded candidates and its approval, the Provisional Ranking List, and of the Final Report by e-mail.
