Are you passionate about transforming data into actionable insights? As an Insights & Analytics Manager, you will prepare data-driven insights for business decision-makers, helping to develop business intelligence, optimize effectiveness, and predict business outcomes. You will analyze data to support processes by identifying, analyzing, and interpreting trends or patterns. Additionally, you will prepare ongoing reports and data visualizations to aid in data storytelling within defined project scopes using established tools and standards.
Accountabilities
Document business requirements, processes, and solutions. Create clear and concise documentation, including business requirement documents, functional specifications, and process flows. Translate business needs into technical requirements such as fit-for-purpose solution design and data models.
Provide insights support for exploratory, descriptive, and predictive data analytics to cross-functional small-scale projects to execute defined solutions that drive value to AstraZeneca.
Develop visualizations and tools to support and deliver analytical solutions within defined project scope.
Develop, implement, and support analytical and data visualization solutions designed to drive the interrogation of datasets for insights in scientific and business application areas within defined project scope. Employ the use of dedicated business intelligence applications and/or cloud services but may also leverage the reporting capabilities of existing ERP, CRM, and/or database software vendors and analytical software such as R, Python, Matlab, and others.
Create and maintain exploratory and predictive analytics statistical models for ongoing and ad hoc review and analysis of data.
Build effective relationships with an established range of stakeholders to ensure utilization and value of information resources and services. Clearly and objectively communicate results, as well as their associated uncertainties and limitations.
Attend stakeholder meetings, take notes, actively participate in discussions, and send meeting minutes. Influence decision-making processes and guide stakeholders towards effective solutions by facilitating consensus among a diverse group of stakeholders.
Develop, maintain, and apply ongoing knowledge and awareness in trends, standard methodology, and new developments in analytics.
Implement working practices to ensure that work is delivered to robust quality standards and aligned to defined governance frameworks and policies.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent number of years of experience
Demonstrated knowledge of data analytic and visualization tools such as R, Python, SpotFire or Tableau
Familiarity with database systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, graph)
Proven ability to draw conclusions from data and present in a succinct fashion to stakeholders
Strong interpersonal skills in building good relationships with stakeholders and managing conflicting priorities and expectations throughout the project lifecycle
Good understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and business domain including financial analysis. Familiar with business processes, terminology, and trends to address business challenges effectively
Lead 2-3 projects' scope, timelines, and deliverables independently. Familiar with project management software
Desirable Skills/Experience
Master's Degree in mathematics, computer science, engineering, physics, statistics, management and economics, or a related quantitative discipline
Experience in consultancy and/or pharmaceutical industry
Comfortable working in high-performance computing or cloud environment
Communicates effectively in both verbal and written forms. Clearly articulate complex concepts and ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders; includes listening attentively and asking relevant questions
Software development skills
