Infrastructure / Systems Administrator 1Key Responsibilities:
System Administration: Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems and software applications.
This includes monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring availability.Server and Storage Management: Administer virtualization technologies, such as VMware or Hyper-V.Security and Compliance: Ensure the organization's IT infrastructure meets security best-practices.
Implement and maintain security measures, such as OS firewalls, hardening, etc.Operations: Provide technical support to systems, addressing operating systems issues.
Collaborate with helpdesk or support teams to resolve escalated tickets.System Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability using appropriate tools.
Identify bottlenecks, optimize resource utilization, and implement proactive measures to improve system efficiency.Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Program regular reports on system performance, security incidents, and compliance status.
Provide recommendations for system improvements and upgrades.Profile:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).Extensive experience in system administration, including managing complex server environments.Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows and Linux) and server virtualization technologies (VMWare, Hyper-V).Strong knowledge of Windows Active Directory.Experience with monitoring tools (namely PRTG) and backup/replications software (Veeam, Arcserve).Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) and automation/management tools (System Center, Ansible, ...) is desirable.Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, ...) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and provide timely resolutions.Solid understanding of IT security principles, risk management, and compliance requirements.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Enjoy working in a multicultural and multinational teamAble to professionally handle confidential mattersAvailability to travel according to project and operational needsFluent and proficient in English, proficiency in German is a plus
