We are seeking a dedicated and proactive HSE Coordinator to join our R&D facility, which includes a research laboratory and a demonstration plant. The HSE Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant workplace by implementing and maintaining comprehensive HSE programs, policies, and procedures.
What you will do:
Safety Management Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies and procedures.
Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventative measures.
Lead incident investigations and ensure timely reporting and corrective actions.
Coordinate regular safety audits and inspections of the facilities.
Training and Education Conduct HSE training sessions and safety drills for staff and contractors.
Develop and distribute educational materials on HSE topics.
Ensure all employees are aware of and comply with HSE regulations and best practices.
Compliance and Documentation Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HSE regulations and standards.
Ensure compliance with HSE laws and regulations.
Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies.
Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, and training activities.
Environmental Stewardship Implement and manage waste disposal and recycling programs.
Monitor environmental impact and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
Promote sustainable practices within the facility.
Emergency Preparedness Develop and maintain emergency response plans.
Coordinate emergency response drills and ensure readiness for various scenarios.
Serve as the point of contact for emergency situations.
What you will bring:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field, with specialization in Safety (CPA level VI or VII);
5-8 years of proven experience in developing and implementing health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures in the chemical sector or similar;
Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and standards;
Previous experience in contributing to industrial facilities construction (preferable);
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to conduct training sessions and engage with diverse teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in using HSE management software and tools.
Certification in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is a plus.
Proficient in both spoken and written Portuguese and English.
