The Head of Sales is a pivotal leadership role within STRIX, an international biodiversityconsultancy renowned for its focus on renewable energy projects. STRIX boasts a strong DNAin innovation and technology development, serving a diverse international clientele,including large corporations, governments, and international finance institutions. This rolerequires a dynamic individual capable of driving sales operations and strategies to achieveand exceed targets. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience from theconsulting sector, alongside multilingual abilities and international experience, tonavigate the complexities of global markets and cultivate strong client relationships in acompany that is at the forefront of environmental sustainability and technologicalinnovation in the renewable energy sector.The Head of Sales is a critical leadership role focused on driving the company's salesoperations and strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets. This individual will lead thesales team in executing sales plans, fostering customer relationships, and ensuring a highlevel of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities Strategy and Growth Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet andexceed salestargets. Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new productsand competition status.
Client Relationships Develop and maintain strong relationships with key partners,stakeholders, and clients to secure and expand business opportunities. Establish productiveand professional relationships with key clients. Oversee the negotiation and closure ofbusiness deals, ensuring profitability and compliance with the company's policies andobjectives.
Performance Management Lead, motivate, and manage the sales team to achieve excellentperformance levels. Monitor sales metrics and manage the sales administration process.
Market Analysis Stay informed of industry trends and technological advancements inrenewableenergy and biodiversity consultancy. Leverage insights from the consulting sector to informsales strategies. Collaborate with the marketing team to identify and enhance customeracquisition. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts.
Communication and Leadership Represent STRIX in international forums, showcasing itsinnovation and technology development prowess. Foster a culture of excellence and innovationwithin the sales team.
Internal Relations and Responsibilities Organizational Structure Reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer, ensuringclear andeffective communication of department progress, challenges, and successes.
Team Management Has full autonomy in managing their team, encompassing staffselection,professional development, and task distribution. He will also oversee the management ofleave and time off, as well as the implementation of reward and recognition systems, pendingsignoff from the CEO. This ensures that while he has considerable freedom in day-to-day andstrategic team management, critical decisions regarding personnel benefits and recognitionalign with the company's broader policies and strategic direction as approved by the CEO. Isresponsible for fostering a positive, innovative, and productive work environment.
Management Tools Utilizes management tools for resource allocation, defining andmonitoringKPIs, and adjusting strategies and operations as needed. Holds authority to make decisionsregarding service distribution, department budgeting, and investment in training and skillsdevelopment.
Interfacing with Other Departments Collaborates closely with Biodiversity, TechnologyDevelopment, and other relevant departments to ensure cross-departmental alignment andsynergy. This includes coordinating on project proposals, aligning biodiversity strategieswith technological innovations, and communicating the value of biodiversity considerationsin project bids.
External Relationships and Responsibilities Clients and Partners Autonomous in negotiating contracts, presenting results, anddiscussing projects with clients, suppliers, and strategic partners. This responsibilityincludes managing expectations, resolving conflicts, and fostering long-term, mutuallybeneficial relationships. Manages interactions with institutional financiers and otherfinancial stakeholders, negotiating financing terms, reporting on project progress, andensuring compliance with funding requirements.
External Representation Represents the company at conferences, workshops, and eventsrelated to biodiversity and renewable energy, seeking collaboration opportunities, sharingknowledge, and promoting the company's initiatives.
Decision-Making Autonomy This position grants extensive autonomy in strategic and operational decision-making, bothinternally and externally, within the parameters set by the CEO or the Board of Directors.The authority includes the freedom to innovate in sales approaches, adjust strategies inresponse to emerging challenges, and explore new market opportunities that align with thecompany's mission.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Specialisation in Consulting withinthe fields of Biodiversity, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or related areaspreferred.
- Proven track record in achieving sales growth and leading a successful sales team, withsignificant experience in the consulting sector.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills, with proficiency in multilingualand multicultural environments.
- Proficiency in CRM and sales management tools, with a keen ability to analyse and deliversales performance metrics.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate the international consulting sector, leveraging industryglobal insights for strategic sales planning and execution.
