We're counting on your energyHead of Risk Management & Control Mission Pivotal role within commodity trading activities, with a broader view across all commodities (Oil, Natural Gas and Power), the Head of Risk Management & Control will be responsible for managing the Commodity Risk, Counterparty & Credit Risk and Reporting & Trade Control teams. Acting as a first line of defense, this leadership position is instrumental in safeguarding our trading operations while promoting growth and profitability. What you'll do Provide strategic and operational leadership to the Commodity Risk, Counterparty and Credit Risk, and Reporting & Trade Control teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Develop and enhance risk management procedures and methodologies in alignment with company standards, industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Regularly monitor and assess the market, credit, and counterparty risks associated with commodity trading positions. Provide insights and recommendations to optimize risk-return profiles. Produce clear reporting to senior management and the board to inform clear decision making in relation to risk within trading activities. Oversee the trade control process to ensure accurate trade capture, trade matching, and settlement processes. Collaborate with front-office and operations teams to resolve trade discrepancies. Recruit, train, mentor, and develop team members, fostering their professional growth and ensuring their competence in risk management and control. Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements to strengthen the overall risk management and control framework. Work cross-functionally with teams in other jurisdictions and timezones to create a cohesive global risk management framework, sharing best practices and ensuring consistency in risk assessment and mitigation efforts across the business. What you'll need Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related quantitative field. Relevant experience within a commodity trading company, preferably in Product Control, Market Risk or Business Review roles. GARP certification - FRM (preferential) Knowledge of ETRM systems (preferential) In-depth knowledge of commodity trading markets, including an understanding of market risk, credit risk, and counterparty risk as well as front-to-back business processes and controls Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills Proven experience in leadership and people management, with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams
