Vagabond Shoemakers is a Scandinavian fashion brand based on footwear that has established distribution in selected markets worldwide. The global head office and main warehouse are in Sweden, and our production office is based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Our business idea and one key to success is using vast in-house competence throughout the entire value chain. Each product is designed and constructed in our full-scale prototype workshop in Sweden, and then it is placed in production with a handful of long-term first-tier suppliers with whom we work very closely. We also source essential materials and nominate sub-suppliers. We seek a Head of Production to run and develop our sourcing onsite in Asia. This key role involves adapting the prototypes for production by ensuring set standards are met. A crucial part is maintaining and developing supplier collaboration and agreements, including tier 2 (LWG-certified tanneries and outsole factories). Responsibilities Work closely with our in-house design & development teams in Sweden, where all last, outsoles and uppers are developed. Manage our sourcing teams in Asia and Portugal, about 35 people in total, who-develop and purchase leather and other components-develop and control the production of samples-do costing & negotiate prices-control material and component quality-plan and place orders-support each factory and oversee the production Ensure joint production development goals with new and long-term suppliers, including CSR compliance. Required experience & skills Documented experience and background in the leather shoe industry,preferably both from Europe and Asia Production and quality management Advanced understanding of construction and material features and quality Required behaviour and competence Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail Excellent management skills in coordinating teams Excellent time management skills when facing deadlines Excellent skills in building relationships Open-minded and well-accustomed to multi-national communications Other You will be fully based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; alternatively, share your time between Europe and Asia, depending on where you are situated today.We look forward to hearing from you!
