We are now looking for a motivated and experienced Head of Procurement to lead Procurement efforts at Critical Software. In this position, the person will play a pivotal role in securing high-quality and cost-efficient items to be purchased for our business.
The Head of Procurement will develop and implement procurement policies and procedures and will also be responsible for negotiating contracts with suppliers and managing supplier relationships.
The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in Procurement and Finance, as well as strong negotiation and relationship management skills. He or she should have an analytical mind and keep up with product and service trends.
The candidate will integrate with the Finance Team at Critical Software - a very motivated and highly energetic team operating from Critical's offices in Coimbra, Lisbon, Porto, and Southampton. The Procurement team is quite lean and focused, and the Head of Procurement is expected to be hands-on and get involved at all levels of the Procurement area.
Finally, Critical Software is committed to the triple bottom line: Planet, People, and Profits, and to business for good, which includes treating our suppliers fairly. The Head of Procurement will have to keep this delicate balance in mind.

What do we expect from you?
Strategic sourcing and evaluating prospective suppliers
Establish and manage a network of trusted suppliers
Lead negotiations with suppliers and partners
Follow and enforce the company's procurement policies and procedures
Assess and develop the existing IT tools used in the area
Review, benchmark, and approve products and services to be purchased
Prepare budgets, cost analyses, and reports
Oversee and supervise all purchasing activities of the company related to travel and fleet management
What makes you a good candidate for this role?
Degree in business management, finance, economics, or related field preferred
5+ years of experience in Procurement
3+ years of experience in a Finance role
Energetic, open-minded, learning attitude
Hands-on attitude, working with a small team
Excellent negotiation and communication skills
Strong leadership skills and ambition to lead at the highest levels
Goal-oriented, organized team player
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and software tools used in purchasing
Excellent English language skills, speaking, reading, and writing
Availability for travel between company sites, suppliers, partners, and customers' sites
