We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Operations to join our team at a leading agricultural company in Odemira, Portugal.About the RoleAs a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for fostering a positive culture and supporting the management of our large-scale farming operation. Your focus will be on cultivation and harvesting, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Management: Coordinate and support line managers and their performance, including regular meetings, appraisals, and KPIs. Manage team talent and plan production departments, ensuring cost control and efficiency.Harvesting: Work with Harvest Managers to plan and support the department, including forecasting, labour planning, and daily logistics. Maintain product quality and train new workers to maximize performance.Crop Husbandry, Irrigation, and Tunnels: Plan and support the department's daily tasks, ensuring resource allocation and team efficiency.Operations: Plan machinery and maintenance departments, organize daily operations, and ensure machinery compliance with legal and health & safety requirements.Health & Safety: Ensure Health & Safety standards are met, training staff to carry out duties safely.Quality Control: Maintain company quality standards, communicating efficiently with stakeholders and meeting customer quality requirements.Project Management: Manage projects, budgets, and resources, collaborating with various departments for successful project completion within timelines.RequirementsEducation: Degree in Agricultural Management, Agronomy, or related field.Experience: Previous experience in agricultural operations, particularly in management roles like Operations Manager or Head of Operations.Skillset: Budget development, MS Office productivity tools (Excel advanced skills required), fluency in Portuguese and English, full driving licence (Category B).Estimated salary: €60,000 - €80,000 per year.
