We are searching for Head of Mechanical Engineering, focused on mechanical design and simulation to join our innovative team as new #bloqstars. This role will lead two teams of talented mechanical designers and simulation engineers to develop, enhance, and maintain our cutting-edge smart locker solutions on several fronts of our Solution.

What will be your responsibilitiesSet clear team and individual objectives, and provide ongoing performance feedback and development;Build and empower a team to deliver creative, thorough, and practical solutions to a wide range of complex technical problems;Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team, ensuring adherence to best practices and company standards;Collaborate with the Head of IoT, Head of Industrialization and Project Managers to align our engineering efforts with business goals;Focus on the professional and personal growth of your team, including conducting performance and compensation reviews;Create and deploy an holistic strategy of all areas that involve mechanical design, structural simulation and thermal simulation of our hardware products;You will report directly to our VP of Hardware Engineering.What are the requirements to join us in this positionProven experience as an engineering manager or similar leadership role in a technology-driven environment;First hand experience as a mechanical designer or simulation engineer;Have experience in leading teams developing hardware products from early concepts up to series production;Expertise with the best principles, practices, and standards in the industry, to develop Mechanical Design, Structural Simulation and Thermal Simulation;Experience in coordinating or being involved in FMEA, Design for Manufacturing, Design for Assembly and Design to Cost processes;Have experience building team & hiring new team members;Excellent leadership, communication (written and spoken in English), and interpersonal skills;Demonstrated ability to work closely with senior management and product teams;Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and learning;Experience in leading teams working on large-scale products;Experience in products combining both hardware and software;Experience in growing Scale-ups, from being an early Engineer to 100+ people team;Experience in B2B enterprise products;What will you get if you join us in this positionA dynamic and fast-paced work environment with a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning;Competitive salary and benefits package, tailored to your experience and skills, including performance-based bonus and Portuguese health insurance;Flexible work conditions, including a remote-friendly policy and a flexible schedule that allows you to balance your work and personal life;Monthly meetings in-person at our HQ Office in Lisbon, PT, giving you the chance to connect with the team and immerse yourself in our company culture;Make a tangible impact by contributing to the continuous improvement of our core solutions, actively supporting our mission to provide affordable and sustainable solutions.Join our team of #bloqstars and help us redefine the last-mile delivery experience!
