ROLE SUMMARY: King's College School, Cascais, a distinguished member of the Inspired Education Group, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Economics and Business to lead our Economics and Business department. Our school offers the Cambridge International curriculum, including IGCSEs, and is set to introduce the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme in 2026. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Leadership and Management: Lead the Economics and Business department, overseeing curriculum development, teaching standards, and resource allocation to ensure high-quality education. Curriculum Development: Design and implement a comprehensive Economics and Business curriculum aligned with Cambridge International and forthcoming IB standards, fostering critical thinking and practical application of economic and business concepts. Teaching Excellence: Deliver engaging and challenging Economics and Business lessons to students from Years 7 to 13, ensuring excellence in academic outcomes across all levels, including Sixth Form. Assessment and Evaluation: Develop and administer assessments that accurately measure student progress, providing constructive feedback to support individual learning needs and preparing students for top examination performance. Professional Development: Mentor and support Economics and Business teachers, facilitating professional growth and promoting best practices within the department.
