Head of Design role for a non-custodial crypto wallet
Our client is set to radically change the way we think about crypto wallets and trading on exchanges. This well-funded startup is making waves in the crypto world with its intuitive, user-friendly crypto wallet. Having already secured strong media partnerships with top crypto news sites (CoinTelegraph, Coindesk, and CryptoNews.com) and strategic alliances with trending projects, they are set to drive rapid user growth.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a commercially astute Head of Design to lead our talented eight-person design team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in UX and UI but their superpower will be the ability to understand business goals and translate them into compelling design strategies. Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire the design team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
UX Research & Design: Oversee all UX research activities, ensuring user insights are integrated into the design process. Develop intuitive, user-centred designs that simplify the crypto experience.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the product team to develop feature specifications and with the product marketer to understand industry trends, competitors, and user needs.
Business Alignment: Translate business initiatives and objectives into design strategies, ensuring the design team's output aligns with overall business goals.
User Insights & Improvement: Utilise UX best practices and both qualitative and quantitative (Amplitude) tools to identify and resolve friction points in the user experience. Track the impact of design changes on user behaviour and business metrics.
Data-driven Design: Collaborate with the data team to understand business challenges such as user registration and in-app spending. Develop and implement design solutions to improve conversion rates and user engagement.
Learn: Use the product and immerse yourself in the wild and exciting world of crypto to understand our users and bring fresh insights to the table.
Who are we looking for?
Proven experience in a senior design role with experience leading a team of both UI and UX designers in a fast-moving tech environment.
Strong background in UX research and design, with a portfolio showcasing your ability to create user-friendly interfaces.
High business acumen with the ability to understand and align design strategies with business objectives.
Experience with qualitative and quantitative UX research methods.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Experience in the crypto industry is a plus but not required; a willingness to learn is essential.
