The Head Grower will be responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the cultural program ensuring a successful crop production and harvest in a safe environment. In agreement with the Production Manager, the Head Grower will strive to maintain and/or improve the growing practices and operations with the objective of reducing overall costs and enhancing plant health, yield and patient satisfaction.Role and ResponsibilitiesCoordination of production schedule ensuring communication of changes.Ensure that all personnel working under his/her supervision have been trained, have signed and follow the relevant SOPs.Communicate with the Production Manager in a timely fashion prior to initiating a change in the schedule or cultural program.Monitor and document plant development and communicate with the Production Manager/Master Horticulturist of any concerns as they arise.Chair Grower's Meeting as requested by Production Manager.Train or ensure that new growers are trained according to our Best Practice document, IPM and Fertigation.Provide leadership for problem and conflict resolution.Maintain a safe, clean and compliant workplace.Keep the Best Practice Document accurate.Schedule De-Leafing.Provide a weekly Summary of Crop Status to the Production Manager/Master Horticulturist.Perform any other tasks as required by the Production Manager.Weekend work and Shift Work may be required.Qualifications and Education RequirementsMust have a Degree (diploma or higher) in Horticulture.Must have a minimum of 5 years work experience in large scale (> 4 acres) crop production.Good organizational and communication skills.Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Applications.Conflict resolution skills.Can work under minimal supervision.#J-18808-Ljbffr
