The Executive Head Chef will create and implement innovative menus that emphasize fresh, locally sourced ingredients and cater to diverse dietary needs, for a international school.
Key Responsibilities:
Menu Planning and Development:
Design and implement seasonal menus that highlight fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Ensure menus are balanced, nutritious, and cater to various dietary restrictions and preferences.
Introduce innovative dishes and culinary techniques to enhance the dining experience.
Kitchen Management:
Hands on kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
Develop and enforce standard operating procedures and culinary guidelines.
Food Preparation and Quality Control:
Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation.
Conduct regular taste tests and quality checks.
Ensure all meals meet the school's standards for freshness, taste, and nutritional value.
Budget and Inventory Management:
Manage kitchen budget, ensuring cost-effective purchasing and minimal waste.
Oversee inventory control, ordering, and proper storage of ingredients and supplies.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen.
Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and health codes.
Conduct regular training sessions on food safety and hygiene practices.
Catering and Special Events:
Plan and execute special events, school functions, and catering requests.
