The Group Accountant will play a critical role in the financial management of DelAgua Group, ensuring robust financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and supporting strategic financial planning. This role is essential for maintaining the financial health and integrity of the organisation, providing accurate and timely financial information to senior management and stakeholders.Key Responsibilities:Financial Reporting:Prepare consolidated and standalone financial statements for the Group in accordance with IFRSEnsure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processesProduce detailed financial reports for internal and external stakeholdersMonitor and report on financial performance, identifying trends, variances, and areas for improvementBookkeeping:Prepare and input journals for investment and sales accounting entriesPrepare carbon accounting inputsReview local subsidiary accounts and assist with their preparation where requiredBudgeting and Forecasting:Assist in the preparation of the annual budget, as well as monthly and quarterly forecastsAnalyse budget variances and provide insights to managementSupport long-term financial planning and strategy developmentCompliance and Audit:Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards and regulationsLiaise with external auditors and manage the annual audit processImplement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial accuracyTaxation:Manage and oversee the Group's tax compliance, including preparation and submission of tax returnsEnsure timely and accurate tax reporting and paymentStay updated with tax regulations and advise on tax planning opportunitiesFinancial Systems and Processes:Maintain and improve financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracyTrain and mentor junior finance staff on financial processes and best practicesStakeholder Management:Collaborate with various departments to gather financial information and support business initiativesProvide financial insights and recommendations to senior managementPrepare presentations and reports for Board meetings and other stakeholdersThis job description outlines the primary duties and responsibilities of the Group Accountant role and may be subject to changes as the needs of the organisation evolve.Requirements:Education and Qualifications:Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent)Experience:Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience post qualification, preferably in a group or multinational environmentExperience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecastingStrong knowledge of IFRSSkills and Abilities:Proficiency in accounting software (preferably Sage but not required) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly ExcelExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detail and accuracyEffective communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong organizational and time management skillsFluency in English; French and/or Portuguese is a bonusJob Type: Full-timeLocation:Lisboa, Distrito de Lisboa (Required)Application Deadline: 15/08/2024
