GLOBAL MEETINGS MANAGER, LATIN AMERICA & CANADA LIVE What you will do The Global Meetings Manager, Latin America & Canada oversees all aspects of off-site meeting management (not including congresses) within AMGEN, with focus on ELMAC, specifically Latin America and Canada. It involves tactics, budgeting, agency management, and process enhancement/automation to improve the meeting experience in ELMAC. The incumbent aligns with AMGEN's standards and handles complex regional regulations.
Responsibilities: Deliver standard methodology process support for the delivery of all non-congress events (including full logistics support inc. registration, data and finance) and for the delivery of new AMGEN initiatives and program adoption.Work with Global & ELMAC GMM Leadership to develop and implement strategy.Lead compliance to Global Meetings Policy in LATAM and Canada, and other assigned ELMAC countries.Lead regional budget and data reporting management, data integrity & validation of savings, QBR's (quarterly business reviews) & metrics.Ensure Cvent technology is in place for all Latin America & Canada (and other assigned ELMAC countries) meetings and supports the C3 transfer.Support Agency implementations and management for Latin America & Canada countries, and other assigned ELMAC countries: lead Implementations, lead QBR's, management of venue find services provided by agency, agency travel approvals, training, agency issues arising and identification of developmental needs.Ensure agency(ies) is developing and performing effective programs within scope, on time, within budget, and compliantly.Development and ownership of Strategic Meeting Management Program (SMMP) process development and training for meetings program in Latin America & Canada as well as support other ELMAC countries as needed.Ensure spend data is collected accurately in meeting management technology platform (Cvent Super User).Conduct data reporting and analysis.Ensure roles & responsibilities are clear when working with multiple agencies.Partner closely with Compliance and Corporate Audit to ensure suppliers are successfully meeting AMGEN policies and guidelines.Partner with business on developing and completing program objectives (data, etc.) and collaborate to identify areas for continuous organizational improvements.Work closely with GMM team on process improvements and critical initiatives.WIN What we expect of you We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor degree in business administration, hospitality management, marketing, communications or equivalent education.5+ years of experience in meetings management roles.Solid understanding of leading meetings and events locally and internationally.Successful track record in meeting management, supplier management, relationship-building, negotiation and problem solving.Fluency in English, Portuguese and Spanish (full working proficiency).Preferred Requirements: Hands-on knowledge and expertise in Strategic Meeting Management.Experience in Pharmaceutical Meetings Management.Hands-on knowledge of hotel sourcing, negotiating and contracting.Hands-on knowledge of meetings and congress operating environment.Hands-on knowledge of compliance, legal and regulatory guidelines related to interactions with health care professionals.Leadership.Change management.Process mapping.Excellent Communication skills.Negotiation skills.Ideally, fluency or understanding of other European languages.
