POSITION SUMMARY
The Global Advanced Mfg. Engineer for Heaters is a specialist in this product and is considered a SME. This position in conjunction with Engineering Groups, develops New Products, Manufacturing Technologies and successfully implements strategies in support of new processes and new technology launches for the Heaters and related Products. The Global Advanced Mfg. Engineer establishes Global manufacturing standards, and helps the plants solve manufacturing process issues. The natural working environment for Global AME Engineer will be the Product Development Engineering Team as he is expected to collaborate with them very closely.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with Engineering Groups and support developing eHeater products
Collaborate with R & D to develop Engineering guidelines and standards
Develop manufacturing strategies that provide maximum operational flexibility with minimal investments
Actively participate in LPPD Workshops and ensure the products and processes are robust
Ensure manufacturing best practices and lessons learned are implemented into new designs
Give consent to the engineering designs and manufacturing concepts of the product
Develop flexible manufacturing systems specifications to meet customer requirements
Develop innovative processes for global implementation
Focal point for manufacturing technical discussions with cross-functional team, management, and customers
Assembly of Heaters & test equipment design and developing equipment specifications
Collaborate with plants in developing the Equipment SOW and acceptance criteria of the equipment
Collaborate with Product Engineering and plants in prototype development and testing, ensuring a smooth knowledge transfer between Proto builder to the plants
Develop Manufacturing Standards and base BOP's and train the plant personnel
Be the technical Lead for the Heater council and mentor the plants with problem-solving
Represent Global AME group at the ETTS plants and develop confidence in total customer (plant and Eng. groups)
Maintain Global Capacity and Capacity Utilization dashboard
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline required; master's degree in engineering preferred.
Experience:
5 years engineering experience at the plant level required; Electromechanical device experience is required
Understand the principles of heat exchangers
Has advanced knowledge in Electricity, Electromechanical and Electric Knowledge in converting electrical energy into thermal energy, solid-state controls, capacitance, EMC and EMI
Knowledge in Heating elements, High Voltage connections and heat transfer methodologies
Experience with various Connections such as soldering, micro welding etc.
Test electromechanical systems, machines, and components using appropriate equipment. Gather and analyze data. Monitor and evaluate system performance and act if needed
Experience in conducting Design Reviews for DFM, DFA and Value Methodologies
In-Depth knowledge of automation and robotics
Working Knowledge in A-SPICE and EDF Processes
The ability to travel 50% of the time
Education, Skills, Knowledge Requirements:
Bachelors in engineering, Masters Preferred
Analytical and creative way of working
In-depth knowledge in GD&T
Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes
Manufacturing Experience in Electric & Hybrid Systems
Complete Understanding of Lean Manufacturing
Solid understanding of Engineering financials (Cap-Ex Planning and equipment costing)
Strong understanding of quality systems, change management principles and processes
Working knowledge of IATF, FMEA, DFM/DFA and APQP required
Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis and/or 8D Problem Solving required
Good communication skills for both internal and external customers
Working knowledge of Health and Safety systems and procedures
