Job Description The German Teacher reports directly to the Human Resources Manager and is responsible for the efficient running of the Onboard German Language Courses with regards to all aspects. All duties and responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with the Company's Safety, Quality, and Environmental Standards. Plan and implement lessons/work schemes. Provide a safe and stimulating environment that facilitates learning. Work in conjunction with the Head of Departments to ensure the Onboard German Language Program is available to all crew. Create and execute specific classes/lessons for departments with direct Guest Contact to improve the overall service offered to our guests. Monitor the progress and development of the students. Ensure regular testing of levels takes place to secure and monitor the progress of all students. Hold "graduation ceremonies" as a reward for completing a German Level Course. Support the Human Resources Manager in the creation of weekly and monthly reports regarding the offered onboard German Courses. Upload and enter data and scans in MXP and Adonis as required in the HR Office (Course completion certification, etc.). Support the Crew Administration Office on Crew Change Days as required. Financial Responsibilities Be cost-conscious with the use of materials and consumables. Ensure that Company property is always maintained properly and treated with respect. Safety & Discipline Responsibilities You are required to: Read, understand, and implement the Mission Statement of the Company. Wear the complete prescribed uniform and name badge as specified in Company Standards, complying with regulations relating to tattoos, hair, and body decorations. Attend and participate as required in all emergency drills, carry a personal emergency card, and understand emergency duties. Properly use Personal Protective Equipment in work areas where required. Perform In Port Manning duties as scheduled and as required by Company policy. Other responsibilities as assigned, but not limited to the above. Qualifications Education/Position Requirements Certified medically and physically fit. Must have a good command of the English language. Must hold a DaF, Goethe, or Berlitz Teaching Certificate. Must be knowledgeable in ISM/ISO, MLC, and SQM matters
