Area of Responsibility
Attend daily and weekly site meetings to monitor progress;
Attend meetings regularly with third parties and other managers to report on progress;
Attend program meetings as needed;
Monitor and validate the work progress on a daily basis;
Review EPCM contractor weekly and monthly reports on the status and progress of the contracts, including project costs and potential changes;
Monitor and validate the construction execution plan based on the one prepared by the EPCM contractor;
Monitor and validate the sequence of the work and input construction constraints knowledge within CONTRACTOR's design;
Monitor and validate the day-to-day coordination, supervision, and field administration of the PROJECT construction activities through the Supervisors;
Work closely with the EPCM contractor to ensure productivity objectives are met and provide efficient project completion activities;
Participate with the EPCM contractor in the preparation of the Subcontracts Packages;
Plan ahead with the EPCM contractor to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones;
Analyse, manage, and mitigate construction risks;
Coordinate and direct Galp's discipline site supervisors team;
Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques with the support of Galp's engineers and discipline site supervisors team;
Provide technical support to the EPCM contractor and Galp Project Manager;
Integration and Interface Management with Sines Refinery, which includes coordination with various departments such as Engineering, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, etc;
Pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up assistance;
Ensure that the project is constructed and documented in accordance with the contract documents and good engineering practices;
Enforce all safety regulations on site to ensure works are performed safely;
Project completion/Close-outs assistance.
Qualifications & Competences
Proven experience in managing construction projects, preferably in industrial settings such as refineries;
In-depth knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and best practices;
Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple teams and contractors;
Ability to anticipate and manage risks, resolve problems, and maintain high productivity levels;
Solid understanding of safety regulations and commitment to enforcing them on-site;
Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders;
Experience in pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up phases of construction projects is preferred.
