We are looking for a well-qualified and talented teacher of Geography to join our team in August 2025.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Inspire trust and confidence in students, colleagues, and parents, fostering an engaging learning environment. Plan and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the GCSE, A-Level, or IBDP Geography curricula, ensuring student progress. Tailor lessons to meet the individual needs of students, using differentiated instruction to support varying learning abilities. Utilize formative and summative assessments to track student learning, ensuring students remain on course to achieve challenging targets. Maintain high levels of classroom behaviour and discipline, creating a purposeful and safe learning environment. Incorporate technology and modern resources to enhance student engagement and learning experiences in Geography. Promote student well-being by providing pastoral care and support, collaborating with parents and staff as needed. Participate in school development planning, contributing to school improvement and promoting the learning goals of the school. Engage students in extra-curricular activities, such as field trips or geography clubs, to enrich their educational experience. Continually update personal subject knowledge and teaching practices, engaging in professional development to enhance student outcomes. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE: A degree in Geography or a related field, along with a valid teaching qualification (such as PGCE, QTS, or equivalent). Proven experience teaching Geography at the secondary level, including knowledge of GCSE, A-Level, or IBDP curricula. Strong classroom management skills to create a safe, productive learning environment and maintain high standards of behaviour. The ability to plan effective, engaging lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of students. Proficiency in using modern technology to enhance learning experiences and promote student engagement. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, parents, and colleagues. A commitment to continuous professional development and staying up-to-date with best practices in teaching and curriculum developments. A collaborative mindset, with a willingness to contribute to school improvement and development planning. A passion for extracurricular activities, such as field trips, that enhance students' understanding of geography. A commitment to student well-being and safeguarding, ensuring the safety and progress of every student.
